DASHTHRUTRAFFIC

Dash was 3 years old in March 2009. He didn't do very well during his short career. He is just getting used to the idea of retirement at such an early age but he thinks just hanging out might be a great job for him.

Dash has received basic obedience training and did very well. He has adjusted to retirement, house rules, soft beds, and loves attention.

KNC BOSS HOGG

Boss just turned 3 years old in May. He raced at 71 pounds but has put on some weight in his foster home.

Boss has done well with living with Greyhounds, a small dog and visiting with a cat in Florida before coming into GRFT. He's a sweet goofy boy that likes his people and will make someone a wonderful companion.

Boss has learned about stuffies, fluffy dog beds but he will still go into his crate when asked.

Boss entered our obedience training program and did very good. He enjoys performing and likes attention. Boss is a really sweet boy.

Boss is being fostered by Barb & George in the Speedwell area.

HUSKA NETTIE

Nettie is a 2 year old female, DOB 10-9-06

Nettie is settling into retirement life very nicely. She's still not real sure about those squeaky toys but she is sure about her soft bed and playing outside. She's very smart and learned "no" right away.

Nettie is getting along well with her greyhound housemate and just ignores the kitties she is being fostered with. Her house manners are excellent, she rides well and crates easily. Nettie really enjoys meeting all the people that came by to pet her.

Nettie is laid back, calm and takes everything in stride.

Nettie is being foster by Shae in the Knoxville area.

JC'S DIANA MARIA

Maria is the sister to Portugal. Her birth date is May 22, 2006. She weighs approximately 60 pounds.

Maria has taken to retirement, loves soft beds, stairs, and being a companion. She has done well with the other Greyhounds in the home and the small dogs she has met.

Marie has excellent house manners, walks nicely on a leash and did well around the children she recently met.

As she settles into retirement we will evaluate her likes and dislikes, teaching her the dislikes are also okay and might actually be fun.

CRAIGIE STAR

Star will be 4 years old in July.

Star has wonderful house manners—no destructive behavior at all. She has an outgoing personality; she loves to follow you around, tail wagging like a propeller, just hoping for a hug. She loves to play with squeaky toys and runs with enthusiasm in the yard. She gets along well with the other greyhound. She is a truly “greyt” companion.

Star is being fostered with a Greyhound and a cat but does show some interest in the cat.

AUTUMN ANGEL

Angel is a 3 year old female.

Angel is as sweet as her name implies. She is a mellow girl and has a delightful greyhound grace. Angel is being fostered with a Greyhound, a MinPin and a cat. She does great with all and seems to really like children.

WW OVER PASS

Overpass is a creamy fawn, female. She is just a baby, her date of birth is 8-8-07. She weighs 62 lbs.

Over Pass is just not a suitable name for this little beauty so we have decided to call her Jolene. We chose this name because she has golden eyes like Jolt and both names have the same first 3 letters.

Well, Jolene has done well her first day here. She is small dog friendly and cat friendly. She just sniffed the cat and walked away. Now that she has had time to fill up on all the food she can hold, there are no signs of any food aggression.

She has not had an accident in the house. She is curious about her reflection in the TV. She is slowly figuring out that she can't walk through the glass door. She figured out the dog beds real quick! She is real people oriented and when you move she gets up and follows you. She will let you know when she is ready to come in by howling at the door. I am not sure if she just wanted in or if she was hungry but her howling got her both in the door and a big bowl of food!

SKIDDY DOC

This good looking senior boy of 11 has been called Zev throughout his retirement.

Zev has helped teach babies to walk by letting them hold on to him. He has loved his people but found himself abandoned to have his life ended but for a caring vet who preformed a needed dental, and declared him in good health.

AMS LOUIS TULLY

Tully is a 2 year old male. He is very friendly, sweet boy that loves affection, is easy going and will let you pet him all day. Tully test cat tolerant in Florida before entering our cell program where he will receive basic obedience training.

Training Update:

Josie and Tully are so darling, Tully will do a sit in the middle of just about anything, even leash walking. He has the sit down!

BD'S WALSH

Walsh will be 4 years old on April 24th. He raced at 70 pounds. Walsh enjoys petting, and is food motivated so we know with all the treats associated with our cell training program he will graduate with flying colors.

Training Update:

Walsh, for as laid back and as stubborn as he is--did all his training wonderful. Afterward I went to tell him how proud Cathy would be and he was hiding his head at first, and then when I stopped petting him he would look up so I'd continue. His face is so handsome and those ears.....

JUDE PEARL

Pearl is a 2 year old female.

Pearl has entered our cell program where she will learn basic obedience. We will post updates as her training progresses

Pearl has not been cat tested but has done great with small dogs, kids and Greyhounds.

Training update: Pearl does a very long stay and can jump over a pole that the trainer holds up. Her handler has done an awesome job and Pearl is so focused on him, and the treats!

Pearl is scheduled for Release the first of July.

Ww's Josey

Josey is a beautiful white and brindle female who will not be 3 until September. She raced at 60 pounds.Josey tested cat tolerant, enjoys attention but she is not pushy.

Josey has entered our cell program and more will be posted as her training progresses. Josie is very playful and a joy to be around.

This class is scheduled for Release the first part of July.

Tick will be 4 years old in August, is a red girl and raced at 58 pounds.

JC LIL PORTUGAL

Portugal will be 3 years old in May. He raced at 68 pounds so he is not the biggest of fellows but he makes up for it with his personality. He is sweet and very striking.

FARRAH

Farrah is a 2 year old small female. She is currently residing in a home with other Greyhounds, a child, a smaller dog and is doing very well.

She is crated trained, has excellent house manners and is waiting for a special family.

Mattie is a 3 year old female. She is presently living with a cat and Greyhounds. She is a little unsure of her roll in retirement but is figuring it out.

FUZZ FACE MIGHTY

Mighty just happens to be the sister to Fuzz Face Motion and Fuzz Face Mouse, all of which were adopted through GRFT. Mighty is in the home she has been groomed for and being loved as a family member. Mighty will be going through mommy training this summer so she can go into hospitals, nursing homes and make people smile.

GONE TROPPO

Troppo with be 4 years old on TAX DAY.

He is outgoing without being intrusive, he has excellent manners. He is one of the “special ones.” He was fostered beautifully with other Greys, 7 cats and even a few birds. Troppo also does beautifully with children, loves to ride, plays gently, and his boundless curiosity and intelligence combined with his fantastic personality make him all the more delightful.
